2011 season

The 2011 season has just flown by at Five Sons Vineyard!  Adam and I have been very busy with our vineyards namesakes (our five sons) and it seems like yesterday that we were standing in the cold pruning our vines.  Now we are looking forward to harvesting another grand crop of Cayuga Blanc in the next few weeks.  We also have a nice crop of Baco Noir, Blau Frankish and Traminette that will be harvested this fall. 

Over the winter of 2011 we did have some cold damage to some of our vines due to the multiple nights of sub zero temperatures.  Our Blau Frankish vines were especially hard hit and the productivity of these vines was very low this year.  We are making plans to prevent this in the future by attempting various techniques to protect the vines from the cold temperatures.

Five Sons has sold out of all grapes for the 2011 season and is looking forward to expanding in the 2012 season to offer the highest quality juice to the public for home winemaking.  If you are interested please contact us early as we sell out fast, send us an e-mail, fivesonswines@yahoo.com.  Let us know what juices you would be interested in along with quantity.  We wold love to be of assistance in providing premium juice for you home winemaking endeavours.
